Damon was late to begin his show career, being two years of age when he attended his first show. His wins include 9 firsts,at Championship shows and he took the Dog CC at Windsor Championship show 2005 taking Best of Breed and being shortlisted in the huge Pastoral group. Not just a pretty face...his growing family of children are beginning to make their mark in the worldwide 'family'. Damon is tested clear of CEA and PRA and is confidently placed at stud to approved bitches. Eyes CEA PRA clear, height at shoulder 22 inches, weight 58lb.

We feel Damon has much to offer the breed and have received tremendous support for him over the years. He is one of the best moving Collies in the show ring today having superb hind angulation and those wonderful, well let down powerful hocks we find Irresistible. The shape is finished by a long correctly set tail, and he HAS a  fore chest..There is far more to good movement than getting to the far end of the ring and back in a straight line, the Collie should flex and 'use' his hocks to propel him forward, he should appear as if he is floating on air with absolutely no effort, he should have good extension at the front to give him balance..moving in a short stepping brisk fashion (although attractive) is NOT correct for our Breed...neither is a heavy plod...and weak cow-hocks are unforgivable....!!

Some say he is small and this is true, but he is NOT under-sized (get out your measuring stick because we have) we feel it is better to have a smaller dog with correct angulation than a taller dog with shorter body, who has gained the height merely through lack of angulation...THINK ABOUT THAT ONE !!! a straight shoulder and stifle gives more height and shorter body...the collie should NOT be square...!!

Beardsworth's  Wicani May'd Of Dreams,...."this blue merle has a lovely head, good fore face and stop, near ears and lovely expression. Colour is lovely too, so clear and well marked. Such a well made bitch and if her handler can learn to show and move her better I'm sure will do very well. "....judge Derek Smith

Wicani Formula One Dog CC & BOB, Darahil Starlight bitch CC Windsor 2005

Some of his critiques:

"tri in excellent coat and condition, clean head, good ear carriage, good reach of neck and length of back, moved freely" Brian Hawkins

"tri of top order, nice head, well filled fore face, nice shaped eye, short hocks so moved well, presented well" Malcolm Patterson.

"tri who in head and expression reminded me so much of our two late tri lads, good ear carriage, nice body shape, could do with a little less coat, Looked and moved really well" Viv Anderton.

" 5 yrs old harsh coat, skull and fore face viewed in profile are good, well angulated shoulders, moderate amount of round bone, muscular thighs, hocks powerful, moves sound, plenty of drive" Ian Rimmer

"Long fine head, eye catching tri with a good flat skull, excellent eye and ear carriage, good length of body, lovely flowing movement........should make the upper house" Hazel Hunt

" Congratulations to this breeder for consistency of type. Heavily coated tri but underneath was a sound construction, again evidenced by good movement. Perhaps a shade shorter in back than his kennel mates but nevertheless presented a pleasing outline. Lovely head and expression and showed none stop" Bev White

" very nice tri, lovely size, so well balanced in shape, with a good reach of neck, excellent croup line and lovely length/height proportions. Head has length, another of those not quite having the tight chin finish i like but he scores in eye size, shape and expression and the flatness of his skull. I thought him a dog with a certain look of style and he too showed a very pleasing side action as he moved around the ring" Albert White.

below is Damon age 4 years.
