WICANI: The home of happy collies!

Breeding 'HOLISTIC' Collies! ...

FRECHEVILLE & DISTRICT CS OPEN SHOW

Evening Open Show 21st August 2008

Thank you to all who gave me an entry and an even bigger Thank you to those who turned up on the day.

Judging these breeds from an all-rounders view point, i was looking for construction and movement and i was hoping to find these qualities in combination with an extra touch of class, style and charisma. More than anything, when viewing the dogs i imagined them standing as silhouettes and asked myself, " is this dog undeniably the Breed it represents when viewed in silhouette"? my winners were all undeniably true to their specific breed type.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS

JUNIOR

1)      NETHERCROFT PERFECT STORM BY PENRAVE. Sable dog and absolutely my cup of tea. Workmanlike construction, elegant and balanced throughout. Super neck and shoulder topped by a lovely head. Short strong hocks and lovely sweep of loin; not surprisingly he is effortless on the move and so typical of his breed. Has that added touch of charm and panache that catches the eye and makes him stand out from the crowd. BOB, well done.

2)      NETHRERCROFT WHAT CAN I SAY. Sable puppy giving away a lot in age, but I hope to meet with him again when he has developed some. Super head, eye and ear carriage, another with that ability to captivate. Moved well for his age. Best Puppy

3)      NAMEED JOSEPHINE

POST GRAD.

1)      NETHERCROFT PERFECT STORM BY PENRAVE

2)      SHELTISHA KISS AT MIDNIGHT FOR BLAZECROFT

3)      SORRY, NAME NOT IN CATALOGUE

OPEN

1)      NETHERCROFT LOVABLE IMP AT SHATAY JW Rich sable dog with lots to like. Fabulous head type and excels in eye, ear carriage and expression. Lovely arch of neck, well presented and handled. Not quite the hind angulation of the junior dog so could not match him on the move. RBOB

2)      MELNEG SEA OF GOLD AT FERNFREY

3)      NETHERCROFT ROYAL MISS

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS

POST GRAD.

1)      OZWAY FIRST RESPONSE Stood alone but still a worthy BOB. Strongly made bitch, very soundly constructed and a joy to watch on the move. Would like her to be just a tadge more feminine. Well handled and presented.

BORDER COLLIES

JUNIOR

1)      CALEYKIZ TWIST THE NIGHT AWAY. Young Slate bitch needing to fill out and mature, even so her movement won her reserve best of breed. She is so light on her feet, keeping her top line and looking like a true worker. Nicely balanced throughout, good expression and very attentive to her handler.

POST GRAD

1)      DETANIA DISRAELI Black and White male with a superb head, glorious under jaw, excellent stop, fill of muzzle and skull, and a super expression. Good neck and bone. Would like to see a bit more tuck up to give more finish to his outline, and he insisted on swinging his hind quarters away to one side on the move. However, he is still a very attractive dog.

2)      STILLMORE ICE IN THE SUN AT COLLSHEP

OPEN

1)      STILLMORE SIMPLY SPECIAL AT COLLSHEP Sh CM…and special he certainly is.! What a star, I loved everything about him. Absolute elegance from every direction and simply shouts ‘Border Collie’ from the roof tops. His superb movement fulfilled my every expectation and was the icing on the cake, thank you so much for bringing this lovely boy today. BOB
